Melody is a licensed master social worker with a PhD in social work and over eleven years of experience in the mental health field, with a strong background in various mental health settings. She is deeply passionate about empowering individuals to discover the tools they need to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives.
Her therapeutic approach is anchored in empathy, collaboration, anti-oppression, self-compassion, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Melody values the uniqueness of each person's experiences and perspectives, fostering an environment of respect and understanding.
In her practice, Melody works collaboratively with clients to create a safe and supportive space where they can freely explore their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs without fear of judgment. She incorporates a range of evidence-based therapies tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of her clients. Her expertise includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing.
Melody has a particular focus on supporting individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorders, addressing the mental health needs of Black women, healing from racial trauma, and treating anxiety-related disorders.
